1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, information created when you use ELO, and limited technical information needed to operate, secure, and improve the app.
Account and Sign-In Information
When you create an account or sign in, we collect information needed to create, secure, and manage your ELO account, such as:
- Your name
- Email address
- Profile photo, if provided through your sign-in provider or added in ELO
- Login and authentication information from Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In
- Basic account identifiers needed to keep your account secure
- Authentication/session information needed to keep you signed in
Google Sign-In and Apple Sign-In may share basic account information with ELO as part of the login process.
Profile Information
You may provide profile information such as your first name, optional last name, profile photo, city and state, and other player profile details. ELO may display your name in the app using your first name and, if provided, your last name.
ELO may also store and display follow/follower relationships, follow requests, blocked-user relationships, match activity, court activity, club activity, and public profile activity as part of the app.
Profile Visibility and Privacy Controls
ELO allows you to control how your profile and activity are visible to other users. You may be able to make your profile public, visible only to approved followers or friends, or private.
When your profile is private or limited to approved followers or friends, ELO uses those settings to limit visibility of certain profile and activity information, such as your public profile activity, match activity, follow relationships, stats, photos, and other social activity.
Some profile information may still appear in limited previews or app surfaces, such as your display name, profile photo, location, or follower/following counts, depending on the feature.
Some information may also remain visible, stored, or processed where needed to operate ELO. This can include information related to matches you join, match results, disputes, clubs, courts, reports, moderation, notifications, safety features, account integrity, app-integrity features, or legal compliance.
Match, Rating, Sportsmanship, and Activity Information
ELO collects and stores information related to matches and player activity, including:
- Matches you create or join
- Match type, including singles or doubles
- Ranked or Casual match status
- Match participants and teams
- Match status, such as pending, active, awaiting confirmation, completed, disputed, or canceled
- Submitted results
- Disputed results
- Match history
- Match timestamps
- Match court and location information
- ELO rating and ELO rating history
- Sportsmanship Score and related confirmation/dispute integrity data
- Career stats and activity summaries
- Match comments, props, and related social activity
Ranked matches affect your ELO rating. Casual matches do not affect your ELO rating. ELO does not use score-based stats.
Courts and Clubs
If you use court or club features, ELO may collect and store:
- Courts you follow, report, or play at
- Court activity, court reports, and court issue reports
- Court chat messages and game alerts
- Club membership, invites, requests, and roles
- Club activity, announcements, chat messages, game alerts, images, and related interactions
- Club ownership, admin, and membership-management activity where applicable
Some court and club information may be visible to other users, court communities, club members, club owners, club admins, or ELO admins depending on the feature and privacy settings.
Messages and User Content
ELO includes social and communication features. We collect and store content you submit or create through the app, such as:
- Direct messages

- Club chat messages
- Club announcements
- Game alerts
- Match comments
- Activity posts
- Reactions, props, and comment hearts
- Uploaded photos or images
- Court submissions
- Reports and report details
- Other content you submit, post, send, or share through ELO
Direct messages are intended to be visible to conversation participants. Club chats, court chats, announcements, comments, activity posts, and other shared content may be visible to the relevant users or communities depending on the feature.
You are responsible for the content you submit. ELO may review, remove, restrict, preserve, or use content when needed to operate the app, enforce our rules, respond to reports, protect users, investigate abuse, or comply with legal obligations.
Reports, Blocking, and Moderation Information
If you report a user, message, comment, match, club, court, photo, announcement, or other content, we collect information related to that report. This may include:
- Your user ID as the reporter
- The reported user, content, or feature
- The report reason
- Details you provide
- A snapshot or context of the reported content
- Review status, admin notes, and moderation actions
ELO also stores blocking information when you block or are blocked by another user. Blocking may affect profile access, search visibility, messages, chats, social activity, and other interactions.
Reports and moderation records may be reviewed by ELO admins or moderators and may be retained for safety, enforcement, legal, and app-integrity reasons.
Location Information
ELO uses location information to support pickleball and court-related features. Location information may include:
- Your city and state
- Browser or device location if you grant permission
- Match GPS location
- Court coordinates
- Court distance calculations
- Court auto-detection and match-to-court linking
- Court suggestions generated from match or court activity
- Location labels for matches, courts, and profiles
ELO may use Google Maps, Google Places, Google Geocoding, and Mapbox to help with location search, reverse geocoding, court enrichment, map previews, nearby court features, and distance calculations.
ELO may display approximate location information such as city/state or court names. Internal GPS coordinates may be used for court detection, match location, court integrity, and app functionality, even when exact coordinates are not shown publicly.
You can control device location permissions through your device settings. If you disable location permissions, some features may not work properly, including nearby courts, distance estimates, court detection, and match-location features.

- Profile photos
- Match or activity images

3. How Information Is Shared
We do not sell your personal information.

With Other Users
Some information is visible to other ELO users as part of the app. This may include:
- Profile information
- Match participation and match history
- ELO rating and Sportsmanship Score information
- Career stats and activity information
- Court and club activity

- Comments, reactions, props, announcements, and other public or shared content

Your profile visibility settings may limit how certain profile and activity information is shown to other users. However, privacy settings may not hide all information in all contexts, especially where information is needed for matches, clubs, courts, disputes, reporting, moderation, notifications, app integrity, safety, or legal compliance.
With Clubs, Courts, and Communities
If you join clubs, follow courts, use club or court chats, respond to club invites, submit club requests, post announcements, or participate in court/community activity, related information may be visible to the relevant club members, court users, club owners, club admins, or ELO admins depending on the feature.
With Message Participants
Direct messages are intended to be visible to the participants in the conversation. If a message is reported, deleted, or involved in an abuse, safety, or moderation issue, ELO may review, preserve, or use related message information as needed to enforce rules, protect users, or comply with legal obligations.
With Service Providers
We use third-party service providers to operate, host, secure, and improve ELO. These providers may process information on our behalf.
For example, ELO uses:

- Vercel and related hosting/infrastructure providers for website and app hosting, deployment, and delivery

- Mapbox for map previews and court/map-related displays
- Other service providers for support, security, analytics, error monitoring, communication, or operational tools if needed to run the app
These providers may process information as needed to provide services to ELO, subject to their own terms, privacy policies, and legal obligations.
For Safety, Legal, and Enforcement Reasons
We may access, preserve, use, or share information if we believe it is reasonably necessary to:
- Enforce our Terms of Service
- Investigate reports or abusive behavior
- Prevent cheating, spam, harassment, threats, impersonation, manipulation, unauthorized access, or illegal activity
- Protect users, ELO, or the public
- Maintain match, rating, court, club, and app integrity
- Comply with law, legal process, or government requests
- Protect our legal rights or defend against claims
4. Profile Visibility, Blocking, and Public Activity
ELO offers profile visibility controls. Depending on the settings available in the app, you may be able to choose whether your profile is public, visible only to approved followers or friends, or private.
Public profiles may be visible to other ELO users and may appear in search, profile views, activity surfaces, match-related surfaces, club/court surfaces, and social features.
Followers-only or friend-only profiles limit certain profile and activity information to approved followers or friends.
Private profiles limit access to certain profile and activity information more strictly.
Even when privacy settings are enabled, some limited information may still appear in previews or app surfaces, such as display name, profile photo, location, follow counts, match participation, match results, club/court participation, or information needed for safety, reporting, moderation, notifications, or app-integrity features.
Blocking another user may limit profile access, messaging, search visibility, chats, and social interactions between you and that user. Blocking may not remove all prior content or activity, especially where information is needed for match history, disputes, reports, moderation, safety, or legal reasons.
5. User Content and Moderation
ELO allows users to submit content and interact with others. This may include messages, comments, reports, announcements, activity posts, photos, club content, court content, and other user-generated content.
We may review user content and account activity when content is reported, when abuse is suspected, or when needed to operate and protect the app.
We may remove content, restrict features, limit visibility, suspend accounts, terminate accounts, or take other action if users violate our rules or create safety, integrity, or legal risks.
Users can report content, users, courts, clubs, images, messages, comments, announcements, or other issues through available in-app tools or by contacting help@elopickleball.com.
6. Data Retention
We keep information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide ELO, maintain accurate match and rating history, operate courts and clubs, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our rules, and protect the app and community.
Some information may be retained even after an account is deleted or deactivated, where needed for app integrity, safety, legal compliance, dispute resolution, moderation, or legitimate business purposes. This may include:
- Match history
- ELO rating history
- Sportsmanship and integrity records
- Disputed result records
- Reports and moderation records
- Club/court integrity records
- Records needed to prevent abuse, cheating, spam, or unsafe behavior
Where supported, uploaded images and user-created content may be removed or deleted through in-app tools or by request, subject to backups, technical limitations, moderation needs, legal obligations, and app-integrity requirements.
